A three-year-old boy was rescued from a 90-metre-deep (295 feet) well in Shandong in China. On arrival at the site, rescuers found the boy stuck over ten metres (32 feet) down the well, which had an opening of only 30 centimetres (11.8 inches). The rescuers lowered oxygen into the well and were able to check his condition on a monitor. After two hours of attempted rescue, they eventually pulled him out by a rope that the boy had looped his hand through. The boy was taken to a local hospital where his condition was described to be fine.
