A video shot by a Los Angeles-based filmmaker shows off the skills of Wheelchair Motorcross (WCMX) athlete Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham performing a set of backflips.The video by Brett Novak shows Fotheringham performing a set of backflips at Pro Park in Las Vegas.Fotheringham was born with the condition spina bifida, a birth defect which affects the spin. It has meant that he has no use of his legs.Fotheringham used crutches in his childhood, and has been using a wheelchair since he was eight.He is currently an 'extreme athlete' on tour with the 'Nitro Circus' , a group of athletes and performers led by stunt performer Travis Pastrana.Novak made the short film as part of a series called “Shortsided”.The series revolves around “creative skateboarders performing tricks in atypical environments
