The accused crushed him under an earth excavating machine which they had brought with them, police said.

According to the police, farmer Kallu Yadav protested the mining activity being carried out on his land and asked the accused to stop it. The accused ignored him, only saying that they were mining on their own land. When Yadav continued to resist, the accused crushed him under the machine.

“The deceased son witnessed the whole incident from a distance. Based on his statement and account, the police have registered a case against five absconding men,” said town inspector RD Dwivedi, adding that the police have seized the excavating machine and investigations are on to nab the accused.
