In a grisly blast that took place in a hut in Piparawa village of Neemuch district, the head of a man was found 15 meters away from his body. His wife too died in the blast. The hut too was reduced to rubble. The exact reason behind the blast is not clear.
The blast took place at around 1 am when they were asleep, Sigoli police said. The deceased were identified as Uderam Bheel and his wife Narmada.
As soon as news broke into the Neemuch district, police team led by superintendent of police Tarun Nayak rushed to the spot along with bomb disposable squad and forensic science lab team from Ratlam rushed to the spot. SP Nayak said involvement of any explosives like gunpowder resulting in the blast was being investigated.
After Petlawad blast last Saturday, administration and police teams all over the state were on high alert, especially on blast related incidents.
Meanwhile sources from the area claimed that after going through the spot and looking of intensity of blast, it appears that some sort of explosives was involved because the couple worked in nearby mines. Sources added that the villages situated on Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan border were surrounded by mines and use of explosives in these mines was common.
