BJP sources said on Monday in Bhopal that in a meeting held Sunday night, attended among others by the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minsiter Shivraj Singh Chauhan, two former Chief Ministers, Kailash Joshi and Sunderlal Patwa, and the present Madhya Pradesh BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar, Jha's name was discussed for the post.

They said that a proposal for making Jha the next President of the Madhya Pradesh BJP has been sent to the BJP high command in New Delhi.

According to the sources, an announcement on Jha's appointment is likely to be made before May 2.
