Even as rains and hailstorm hit crops in several parts of the state on Sunday with the central region being worst affected an ex-MLA from BJP has come out with a bizarre idea to ward off natural disasters.

The ex-MLA Ramesh Saxena (68) from Sehore, the home district of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan even circulated a video of his message among people in the district.

On Monday, he went on to claim since people in Sehore assembly constituency listened to his advice there was no damage to his crops during rains and hailstorm on Sunday.

He said, “I have advised that people in every village should recite Hanuman Chalisa at least 500 times every day till there is a forecast of bad weather for at least 4 days more. Hanumanji who is an incarnation of God Shankar will bless people and there will not be any harm to public life and also the crops.”

When asked about the scientific basis of his advice he said it was a proven fact explained well in the ancient holy texts like Ved, Purana etc how capable Lord Hanuman was and how he protected his followers from evil forces.

When asked by journalists the state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan said he would not like to make any comment on the ex-MLA’s advice. Rather, the ex-MLA should be asked about the same.
