According to students, despite raising the matter of cleanliness many times, the MANIT administration did not pay any attention to the problems.

Samrat Kunal, who is down with Dengue, said, “MTEch students are living in a faculty guest house as we have not been shifted to the new hostel. We are living in filthy conditions on the campus. The unhealthy and unhygienic conditions have led to an increase in the number of mosquitoes. We raised the matter many times but by making excuses of a financial crisis, the administration did not do anything.”

A few months ago, the students had staged a demonstration on campus against poor and unhygenic facilities in the college.

A BE student, Sudhakar Upadhayay said, “Due to wild plants and weeds, mosquitoes are breeding here. On Tuesday, a snake was caught near the hostel. We discussed the matter with the administration and they assured us of giving proper facilities.”

“We got information about the dengue-hit MANIT students. We have asked the medical officers to give advices to control it. We have also asked officials concerned to start fumigation through a fogging machine. We are trying our best to control it,” said Narendra Patidar, hostel in-charge.
