Aamir Khan continued a successful run at the box office in China as his second release in recent times - Secret Superstar - earned Rs 420.57 crore in 10 days. Aamir’s previous superhit, Dangal, collected Rs 417 crore in two weeks of the release; it went on to earn Rs 1400 crore in the country.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures. “#SecretSuperstar is UNSTOPPABLE in China... Expected to cross 500 cr in next few days... [Week 2] Fri $ 4.86 mn Sat $ 7.58 mn Sun $ 6.99 mn Total: $ 66.19 million [ 420.57 cr], ” he wrote.

The film’s worldwide gross has now reached Rs 550 crore. With this, Aamir now has four films in the Rs 500 crore club -- PK, Dangal and Dhoom 3 along with Secret Superstar. The year 2017 was not kind to Bollywood films. The big bonanza came right at the end when Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai released. The film has earned over Rs 330 crore at the domestic box office.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Secret Superstar saw Aamir in a supporting role to its lead Insia, played by Zaira Wasim. Zaira had also played one of Aamir’s onscreen daughters in Dangal.

Before Secret Superstar, the massive collection of Aamir's wrestling movie Dangal in China made it the highest grossing Indian film ever, even more than last year’s blockbuster Baahubali 2.

Aamir became a household name in China after Dangal earned Rs 72.68 crore in the first three days of its release in China and went on to collect Rs 417.48 crore in two weeks in the country. The film was based on the real life story of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his two daughters.

Aamir’s 3 Idiots and PK were also successful in China.
