Aishwarya Rai, Rajkummar Rao fall in love, ruin a good song in Fanney Khan’s Halka Halka
Aishwarya Rai and Rajkummar Rao enjoy the good ol’ Stockholm syndrome in the new song from Fanney Khan.
The makers of Fanney Khan have shared yet another bad rendition of a perfect, popular old song. This time, music director Amit Trivedi decided to shred Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Ye Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai to pieces while the film director got Aishwarya Rai and Rajkummar Rao to romance and eat chowmein to it.
Halka Halka, released on Saturday, mixes Nusrat’s melody in Divya Kumar’s voice with heavy bass, a bad beat drop and new vocals from Sunidhi Chauhan. It is just what the clubs needed for their next Bollywood night.
The video features a nervous kidnapper, played by Rajkummar, as he tends to his captive, played by Aishwarya. A few blindfolded lunches and dance parties later, the two begin to fall in love. The video also features long shots of Aishwarya vogueing into the camera. Watch it here:
Also, here is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan singing his original:
Fanney Khan is the story of a father, played by Anil Kapoor, struggling to fulfil the dreams of his daughter, who wishes to be a singer. With a friend’s help, he abducts a popular singer to extort enough money to launch his daughter’s career.
Fanney Khan is Atul Manjerekar’s debut film as a director and releases on August 3.
