The doors to Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow Prateeksha will be thrown open for a shoot for the first time this week. A scene for Anurag Kashyap’s short film, which will be part of the movie, Bombay Talkies, will be shot in the veteran actor’s iconic mansion.
“Big B has never allowed anyone to shoot and capture the interiors of his first home in Mumbai. This is where his parents lived and this house is very special to Amitabh,” says a source, further revealing that it was Anurag who requested the actor to give him permission to shoot in the premises.
The source adds, “The story of Anurag’s short film revolves around a diehard fan of Bachchan. He travels to Mumbai from Allahabad to fulfil his dying mother’s last wish of feeding the legendary star her hand-made murabba (sweet pickle).” Anurag will capture the scene in Prateeksha’s driveway and reception area.
Ashi Dua, producer of the film, confirms the news, saying, “Shooting at Mr Bachchan’s home is a central part of the script. We are grateful to him for allowing us to access the porch and reception area of his bungalow. This is the first time that his house will be seen on celluloid.” Anurag, who is in Dubai, is equally thrilled with the development.
