BO report: Hate Story 2 earns Rs 5.46 crore, Humpty Sharma is a smash hit

Hate Story 2 surprised with its good run at the BO on day one of its release. It made a respectable Rs 5.46 crore on Friday and this erotic thriller starring Jay Bhanushali and Surveen Chawla is set for a decent run.

With none of the big stars missing from the marquee this Friday, expectations from the box office were none too high. Three films that released this weekend included Hate Story 2, Pizza 3D and Amit Sahni ki List.

However, Hate Story 2 surprised with its good run at the BO on day one of its release. It made a respectable Rs 5.46 crore on Friday and this erotic thriller starring Jay Bhanushali and Surveen Chawla seems to be set for a decent run.

The other two films didn't fare too well though. While Pizza 3D starring Akshay Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Dipannita Sharma earned Rs 75.03 lakh, Vir Das' Amit Sahni ki List made Rs 68.6 lakh.

Last week's release Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania is meanwhile a certified hit. The Alia Bhatt-Varun Dhawan-starrer has made Rs 56.53 crore till Friday. Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor-Siddharth Malhotra-starrer Ek Villain has emerged the third biggest grosser of the year with total earnings of Rs 105.62 crore.

Top of the pile in this list are Salman Khan's Jai Ho and Akshay Kumar's Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty.
