The 37th Toronto Interna-tional Film Festival (TIFF) is being praised not only for its impressive lineup of movies and star power, but also for being extremely well-executed.

Stars are regularly being spotted at the red carpet for the screening of their latest flicks. Indian talent too, is getting its moment under the Toronto sun. Day 6 on Tuesday saw Indian filmmakers such as Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Hansal Mehta, Habib Faisal and actor Abhay Deol, who all attended the City to City press conference — an event that showcases works of the Mumbai film industry.

Films in this section include Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseyp-ur, Mehta’s Shahid, Banerjee’s Shanghai, Faisal’s Ishaqzaade and Vasan Bala’s Peddlers. Other Indian actors seen at the fest were Siddharth, Shahana Goswami and Shriya Saran, who all attended the screening of director Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children.

Filmmaker Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist was screened earlier at the fest. Actor Sridevi’s comeback film, English Vinglish, will also be showcased at the 11-day gala. Filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli’s The Tortoise, An Incarnation, will be screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section.
