In pics: Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh attend Aishwarya’s father Krishnaraj Rai’s funeral

Aishwarya Rai’s husband Abhishek, in-laws Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and other Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, paid their last respects to Aish’s father Krishnaraj Rai at his funeral on Saturday.

The funeral of Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai’s father Krishnaraj Rai, who died on Saturday, was held in Mumbai.

The Jazbaa star’s husband Abhishek Bachchan, in-laws Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, and other Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, were present to pay their last respects. Others stars, like actors Kunal Kapoor and Sonali Bendre, veteran actors Simi Grewal and Randhir Kapoor and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, were also spotted.

Krishnaraj, who was in the intensive care at the Lilavati hospital, succumbed to lymphoma at around 4 pm on Saturday. He was an Army biologist.

Aishwarya’s father was visited by her in-laws Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan while he was in hospital. An earlier Indian Express report had quoted a source as saying that he was likely suffering from a recurrence of cancer. He was supposed to be discharged after a two-week stay in the hospital, but was recently shifted to the ICU.

Unlike every year, there was no grand Holi celebration by the Bachchan parivaar this year, keeping Krishnaraj’s health in mind.

On the work front, Amitabh will be seen in Sarkar 3 and it is rumoured that Abhishek and Aishwarya will be reuniting onscreen for Anurag Kashyap’s next.
