Rangoon: Shahid Kapoor training hard for Vishal Bhardwaj’s film

Shahid Kapoor is known to do rigorous workouts, and he often posts pictures on social media to keep fans updated about his regimen. And, when it comes to getting in shape for his films, the Bollywood star leaves no stone unturned. In the past, Shahid has followed stringent workout routines to prepare for Kaminey (2009) and R... Rajkumar (2013). Now, to prepare for film-maker Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming project, in which he plays an army officer, the actor is spending long hours in the gym.
A source close to him says, “Shahid is exercising rigorously. His trainer has given him a very different regimen. He has been doing workouts that army officers usually do to build strength and for muscle endurance. They include long runs, rope climbing, squats, deadlifts, push-ups and pull-ups.”
The source adds that Shahid is also doing dumbbell swing and side-bridge exercises. “He started this workout a few days ago, and spends an hour doing only this, before moving on to other exercises,” adds the source.
We tried to contact Shahid, but he wasn’t available for a comment.
