Saif Ali Khan says he was never interested in being a nawab: ‘I prefer eating kabab’. Watch him answering mean tweets
Saif Ali Khan is his witty self, fielding questions on being a ‘nawab, still clinging on to the “hukumat”’ and on turning up for Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in a simple kurta-pajama.
Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan’s online chat show Pinch seems to have become a favourite with stars. The latest star who will grace the show will be Saif Ali Khan. The promo of the show was launched on Monday and had Saif answer some of the questions in his quirky style.
As the promo rolls, questions come rolling over — on being a nawab and still clinging on to rotten ‘hukumat’, he says: “I have never been interested in being a nawab. I prefer eating kebabs.” On turning up at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in a simple white kurta pajama, he says: “It’s her wedding, not my wedding.” Does he feel the pressure to reply immediately after he have reads something: “I have stopped doing that as some people don’t reply to me. So, then I thought, hey, I don’t have to reply.”
Pinch has already seen quite a few stars grace the show. As part of its format, stars discuss comments that readers write about them. One such a comment was about Saif allowing Kareena Kapoor Khan to wear swim suits, to which Kareena had an epic reply. She had said: “Who is Saif to stop me from wearing a bikini anyway? Because I don’t think my relationship is as such that Saif would ever tell me why are you wearing a bikini or why are you doing such things or what? I don’t think so at all. I think we share a very responsible relationship. He trusts me and when I am wearing a bikini then obviously there’s a reason I am wearing it:I am taking a dip.”
Another celebrity guest on his show was Karan Johar, who too had to field some rather awkward questions. Some comments read: “Bhai aap paglo wale dress kyu use karte ho? (Why do you dress up like mad person?)” and “Did you have a gender malfunction?” To which, Karan replied, saying: “It says the level of homophobia. That to me is sick.”
Saif, who is shooting for his next film where he plays a Naga sadhu, will be seen next in the second season of Sacred Games. The teaser of the second season of Sacred Games was released recently and has been received well.
