Ever wish you had a house husband like you do in your new film Ki & Ka?
I am glad my husband comes home to me at the end of the day. In India, men are supposed to be the breadwinners by default. But as women are beginning to lead the pack, we are warming up to concepts like stay-at-home husbands.

You are sharing screen space with Shahid Kapoor in your upcoming film, Udta Punjab. What was it like working with him after so long?
Amazing! Our camaraderie continues and I cannot wait to revisit that on-screen chemistry we created during Jab We Met (2007). As an actor, Shahid has definitely grown and come into his own and his performance in Haider (2014) is proof of that. As a person, he continues to be warm and chivalrous.

Most heroines shy away from item numbers once they become stars, not you...
I love to dance. It is an integral part of Bollywood and I don’t think there is anything wrong in doing item numbers.
Your earliest memory from a film set.
I have been to many of my sister’s (Karisma Kapoor) shoots. I was there when Akshay Kumar gave his first shot. I was 10 years old then!
One thing about you that we do not know.
I love to eat doodhi and karela.
One thing about Saif Ali Khan you got know after marriage.
He sleeps a lot. He has a talent for it. He can sleep the whole day.

One thing you love to do when no one is watching.
Catch up on my reading. While I am not a voracious reader, for a few months now I have been hooked on to Scandinavian thrillers. I love Jo Nesbø and Camilla Läckberg.
Three things in a man that turn you on.
Confidence, chivalry and a good dressing sense. Also, he needs to smell good.
A vegetable you resemble.
Tomato. My cheeks are always red!
Among the roles you have essayed so far, which is closest to the real you?
Geet in Jab We Met.
What is Karisma like as a sister?
Lolo is and always has been a very protective sister. In fact, I am the bully in the family and continue to get my way with everything.
Apart from your immediate family, who in the Kapoor khandaan are you most fond of?
My cousin Ranbir Kapoor. Over the past few years, our friendship has grown in leaps and bounds. Whenever I am irritated or in a foul mood, he is my go-to person. He is my confidante. We trust each other a lot and I know he definitely has my back.
How does it feel to be a begum in real life? What has changed?
*Tsk-Tsk* Chhoti begum! My mother-in–law, Sharmila Tagore, is the true eternal Begum!

What has changed after marriage?
What’s great about marriage and Saif’s family is that they have never forced or asked me to change or give up my anything in my life. And the credit mostly goes to my mom-in-law. She is the perfect matriarch, an amazing listener and a great friend. She is the embodiment of a true modern woman. At a time when women were still bound by tradition, she carved her own path.
You seem to have settled into your new family pretty well.
The best part about my marriage is that I have more love pouring in from all sides. I have two families to call my own - a loving and caring husband, two amazing children, two more sisters and two mothers. It is fun!
