She has been in the industry for over two decades, and actor Raveena Tandon (right) says that a strong heart is a must to survive in Bollywood. The 40-year-old says that no matter how your films turn out, a strong determination will get you through.

“This industry can be very ruthless. If you are not successful, it can be very hard for you here. But you need to be strong enough to be able to handle this,” she says.

Talking about the flip side of being a public figure, Raveena says that she hates the scrutiny that actors are subjected to. “There’s too much exposure now. We can’t figure out where to draw the line. But of course, I’ve been a part of the industry for so long, and so, I love it here,” she says.

The actor will soon be seen in a film directed by Onir, shot in Delhi earlier this year. “In the film, I play a socialite living in Capital. I always love going to Delhi. People there are so warm and hospitable. It’s like they welcome you,” she says.

Meanwhile, Raveena faced an untoward incident in Los Angeles, US, when the organiser of a show misbehaved with her during an Independence Day event. Many actors stood up for her, and she feels lucky to have got so much support from the industry.

“A lot of heroines spoke up, which was great. They (organisers) think that just because we are stars, we will not say anything, which is not true,” she says.
