Producer and writer Vikram Bhatt’s next, Ankur Arora Murder Case (AAMC), is based on a real-life incident of medical negligence, and for that, he is seeking help from a US-based doctor, Kunal Saha, to promote the film. Kunal, who lost his wife, Anuradha, because of medical negligence in 1998, runs a humanitarian society called People for Better Treatment, which operates from Kolkata.

There is a enough reason for the makers of AAMC to rope in Kunal for the film promotions. While the Supreme Court’s verdict in Anuradha’s case resulted in the highest compensation in the Indian history, Kunal endeavours to fight such neglected battles. He will be promoting AAMC for the benefit of the society. “He will address the issue of medical negligence and the importance of paying heed to the issue. When we got to know about his sufferings, we approached him to be part of the crusade and speak about demanding a change for the betterment,” says Vikram.

The filmmaker also believes that Kunal is the right person to address the issue. “We approached him as he was not aware about our film. We thought he would understand the film more than anyone else,” says Vikram, adding, “He is supporting us in highlighting the matter as somewhere he also feels that medical negligence had not been highlighted the way it should have been. We only hope that apart from the promotion of the film, the issue gets addressed and makes an impact.”
