After days of speculation over his wife Mira Rajput’s pregnancy, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor said on Saturday he is going to become a father.

After days of speculation over his wife Mira Rajput’s pregnancy, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor said on Saturday he is going to become a father.

When asked about rumours about his impending fatherhood, the actor told reporters: “Why are you asking ghuma firake (round about), ask directly. Yes...haan mein baap banane wala hoon (yes, I am going to become a father).”

He was talking to reporters at the trailer launch of “Udta Punjab.”

Shahid and his wife Mira Rajput, who tied the knot in July last year, are expecting their first child.

Mira’s reported pregnancy became a talking point when she walked the ramp at the fashion week recently.

A recent post by Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta on her Instagram page sparked the ‘rumour’ and set the gossip mills abuzz when she hinted at Mira’s pregnancy.
