NEW DELHI: The finance ministry is likely to move Cabinet on Thursday for an approval of the budget date. The ministry has chosen February 1 for presenting the Union Budget 2017-18. Budget consultations will begin on November 1 keeping that date in mind. The government had earlier approved the move to advance the Union Budget and also merge it with the Rail Budget. Till this year, budget was presented on the last day of February.
