Dealers said dollar selling by exporters boosted the rupee sentiment.

The rupee had gained 26 paise to close at more than a week's high of Rs 52.95/96 against the dollar on Wednesday following sustained dollar selling by exporters amid signs of fresh capital inflows.

Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose by 70.88 points, or 0.45%, to 15,953.52 in opening trade on Thursday.
