Mahindra has commenced the pre-bookings for its latest upcoming SUV, the XUV 7XO. Those looking to pre-book the SUV can do so by visiting the manufacturer's website or by visiting a dealership near them. The booking token amount for the Mahindra XUV 7XO is ₹21,000. The homegrown SUV is slated to launch in the Indian markets on January 5, 2026.

Expected changes

While Mahindra has not released comprehensive details of the 7XO, teaser images suggest that the SUV will maintain the recognisable overall shape of the current model. However, it is expected to feature a more modern design inspired by the brand’s upcoming electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and XEV 9s. Visual updates are likely to include a redesigned front and rear, new headlamps and tail lights, modified bumpers, and updated alloy wheel patterns.

Interior updates have not yet been announced, but Mahindra may incorporate some of the newer tech features seen in its recent EV concepts and production models. More details are expected as the launch approaches.

Expected engine options

Mechanical specifications are likely to remain unchanged. The XUV 7XO is expected to retain the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 200 hp and 380 Nm, and the 2.2-litre diesel engine rated at 185 hp and 450 Nm. Both engines should continue to be paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. An all-wheel-drive option, previously available with the diesel variant, is also expected to remain available.

With bookings opening next week, Mahindra will soon release additional information as the XUV 7XO approaches its early January market launch.

How to book the SUV online?

In order to book the XUV 7XO, interested buyers can visit the official manufacturer's website and navigate to the XUV7 7XO product page. Under this section, users can find the pre-book now option, which will open up the bookings page. On this page, users will need to select the fuel and transmission option and then press ‘Confirm and Proceed’. Users will need to fill in the rest of the details in order to pre-book the SUV.
