Suzuki Motorcycle India Crosses 10 Million Production Milestone, launches e-Access
Suzuki Motorcycle India marks 10 million units produced in 20 years and opens bookings for its first electric scooter, the e-Access, in India.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. has crossed a cumulative production milestone of 10 million two-wheelers in India, marking an important point in its 20 year presence in the country. The company rolled out its 10 millionth unit from its Gurugram facility, underscoring how steadily it has scaled operations in one of the most competitive two-wheeler markets globally.
After beginning operations in 2006, the company reached its first 5 million units in 2020. What followed, however, was a faster phase of expansion, with the next 5 million units produced in just six years. The milestone unit was the Access Ride Connect Edition, reflecting the central role the Access nameplate has played in Suzuki’s India story.

The Access 125 was among the earliest scooters to popularise the 125 cc segment in India. Over multiple updates and generations, it evolved alongside changing customer expectations while retaining a focus on reliability and ease of use. It remains Suzuki Motorcycle India’s highest volume product and continues to anchor the brand’s presence in the mass market.
Beyond scooters, Suzuki has gradually widened its portfolio. Models such as the Gixxer series, V-Strom SX, and larger capacity motorcycles like the Hayabusa and GSX-8R have allowed the brand to cater to riders beyond the commuter segment. At the same time, exports of made-in-India Suzuki two-wheelers now extend to more than 60 markets, positioning India as an important manufacturing base for the company.
The company recently opened bookings for the Suzuki e-Access, its first electric scooter and Suzuki’s initial global step into battery electric two-wheelers. Unlike a clean break from existing products, the e-Access builds on the familiarity of the Access brand while adopting a new electric platform.
The e-Access has been developed with an emphasis on durability, predictable performance, and long-term ownership rather than outright performance figures. It uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery and is designed to maintain a consistent response even at lower charge levels. Features such as multiple ride modes, regenerative braking, and reverse assist are aimed at everyday usability.

Suzuki has also focused on backend readiness as it enters the electric space. Its sales and service network of over 1,200 touchpoints is being supported with trained EV technicians, dedicated tools, and a growing charging setup that includes both DC fast chargers and portable AC options.
Looking ahead, Suzuki Motorcycle India is preparing for higher volumes across segments. A second manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda in Haryana is under development and is expected to support future demand, both domestic and export-led.
