22-yr-old woman killed as jeep hits wall in Kharar

A 22-year-old woman was killed and another man injured after the jeep they were travelling in collided with a wall near the Khooni Majra village in Kharar on Wednesday. The passengers were classmates in a course at Rayat Bahra Group of Colleges and were on their way to Fatehgarh Sahib.

A 22-year-old woman was killed and another man injured after the jeep they were travelling in collided with a wall near the Khooni Majra village in Kharar on Wednesday.

The passengers were classmates in a course at Rayat Bahra Group of Colleges and were on their way to Fatehgarh Sahib.

The deceased has identified as Navdeep Kaur (22), a resident of Sector 34 in Chandigarh, and a native of Patti in Tarn Taran. The injured man, who was behind the wheel, when the vehicle lost control, has been identified as Barinder Singh (22), a native of village Koom Kalan in Ludhiana.

He was putting up at Sector 70 in SAS Nagar. Passersby rushed the victim to the Government Medical Specialty Hospital (GMSH) at sector 16 in Chandigarh, where doctors declared Navdeep Kaur brought dead and referred Barinder to the PGIMER. The police said no case had been registered against anyone. The police said inquest proceedings had been started.
