Bappi Lahiri joins BJP

Singermusic director Bappi Lahiri, Bollywood actor Prashant Narayanan and TV actor Gaurav Chopra joined the BJP in the presence of party chief Rajnath Singh. Though Singh did not indicate what role would be assigned to Lahiri, the BJP unit in West Bengal said that it wanted him to contest the coming Lok Sabha election from the state.

In 2004, Lahiri had campaigned for the Congress. “There was a wave then and there is a different kind of wave blowing across the country now.” he said.
