The decision has come after the state government had hiked the fare by 8 paise in June this year.

The bus fare for semi-deluxe AC buses, and integral and super integral AC coaches has also been slashed by 5 paise, 7 paise and 8 paise respectively.

“This is first time in the history of the state that the bus fares have been reduced,” transport minister Ajit Singh Kohar said in a statement here.
