It may be recalled that during his visit to the university on June 10, member of parliament, Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu, had promised them to lend all possible support and had written a letter to chief minister Prakash Singh Badal requesting him to provide jobs to these students.

Besides, Aam Aadmi Party leader HS Phoolka and the party volunteers had also met students and assured them full support.

Amrit Pal Singh, an AAP volunteer, along with other party members, met the vice-chancellor of the university and requested him to look into the matter. A fisheries student said, “We do not see anything concrete coming out till now but our fast unto death will continue till our demands are met.”
