Govt job for slain ASI's daughter

The Punjab government today appointed the daughter of slain ASI Ravinderpal Singh to a post in government service. A decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab cabinet under the chairmanship of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.

A decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, an official spokesman said.

The cabinet condemned the murder of Punjab Police ASI Ravinderpal Singh at Chheharta in Amritsar district recently.

Singh was gunned down allegedly by an Akali Dal leader while resisting harassment of his daughter.

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the cabinet decided to appoint ASI's daughter Robinjeet Kaur, who is MSc in computer science, as Naib Tehsildar in the state government, the spokesman said.
