Haryana Roadways has decided to start AC Volvo bus service from Gurgaon to Jaipur and Agra. Haryana state transport director general Arun Kumar said this while launching a new city bus service in Gurgaon.
On this occasion, he flagged off the city bus service buses and five new buses added to the fleet of Volvo buses run between Gurgaon and Chandigarh. Now the number of AC Volvo buses operating between Gurgaon and Chandigarh has increased to 15.
He said from the next month after every hour Volvo bus from Gurgaon to Chandigarh would be available to ferry passengers.
Kumar said for the convenience of the passengers, the Volvo bus service from Gurgaon to Chandigarh was started in 2008 and about 1,200 passengers were travelling in these buses daily.
Passengers could book their tickets online at transport department's website.
He said Haryana Roadways would soon start the construction of two new bus stands at Gurgaon and added that these bus stands would be constructed in three acres of land in sector 29 and in five acres of land near Rajiv Chowk.
He said in the first phase of the city bus service, it would run on four routes out of 11 decided routes. Within six months the buses would operate on the remaining routes also.
