SAS Nagar to have third eye surveillance to check traffic violations as the municipal corporation (MC) is in the process to install CCTV cameras in 105 places in SAS Nagar. The decision was taken in a meeting held by mayor Kulwant Singh on Tuesday.
SAS Nagar to have third eye surveillance to check traffic violations as the municipal corporation (MC) is in the process to install CCTV cameras in 105 places in SAS Nagar. The decision was taken in a meeting held by mayor Kulwant Singh on Tuesday.
Commissioner MC Uma Shankar Gupta said the issue of installing CCTV cameras and setting a monitoring control room is being taken up with Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) for which a detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared.
Kulwant said about 100 reflector jackets and reflector batteries, sponsored by private players, would be provided to the police department. The SAS Nagar senior superintendent of police office will have to submit a report regarding the expenditure in one week to the mayor’s office.
The MC would purchase two alchometers, one speed radar and one van and give it to the police department.
Other decisions were also taken at the meeting.
All traffic lights to have timers and police department is expected to immediately inform the municipal corporation of the number of traffic lights without timers, police will get about 100 barricades sponsored by a private company and all lights to have battery backup.
Also, all chowks to have slip roads, municipal corporation to prune the trees near traffic lights and road safety infrastructure on all roads to be strengthened
