Singer Jasbir Jassi, who came under the spotlight for his statement about singer Yo Yo Honey Singh recently, says that he did meet Singh, but not in a rehab. “I met him in Chandigarh, not denying from that, but I did not meet him in a rehab,” he says. “I don’t need to speak against Honey Singh for publicity. I can get that by singing certain kind of songs,” further adds Jassi, hinting at songs with lewd lyrics.

“I have nothing personal against him (Yo Yo Honey Singh), in fact I admire his music and am fan of his beats. Only issue I ever had was with some of his songs with obscene lyrics and glorifying alcohol/drugs, (sic)” wrote Jassi, about Singh on Twitter on Tuesday.

Jassi, who has sung hits such as Laung da lashkara (Patiala House, 2011), Dil le gayee kudi Gujrat di and Kudi kudi, has a reputation of being upfront and has stood against songs with lewd lyrics, as he believes in promoting quality music.
