Members of Sarv Jat Khap Samiti issued an ultimatum to state government to either awards reservation status to Jat community or else be ready to face the repercussions after 15 December.
The samiti president Nafe Singh Nain said during a meeting held at Jat Dharmsala in Jind on Friday.
Nain said that if state government fails to fulfill the promise of giving reservation to Jats by the said date, then members of Sarv Jat Khap Samiti would mobilise the community for pressing their demand.
He said that to chalk out the strategy of state level agitation, a meeting would be organised at Dinoda Kalan village of Narwana district on 13 September, in which representatives of all Jat Khap panchayats would participate on this issue.
While elaborating on the strategy, Nain said, "In the next meeting we will pay tribute to Sunil Kumar, who died during Mayyar agitation of Jat community, last year".
He said that all independents khaps would bring their resolution regarding the December Jat agitation in the next meeting.
Right now, the demand of reservation is only limited to jobs in the state government only, but later we would push for seeking reservation in Center government jobs well, he added.
He also slammed the political leaders who opposed the reservation for Jat community by saying that such leaders are doing it for their vested interests.
