It was around 3 pm on Thursday. Both Rohit (9), a student of Class 4, and 12-year-old Pratham, a student of Class 8, had returned from St Xavier's High School, Sector 20, Panchkula. Their parents Vinod Mittal (38) and his wife Neelam Mittal (35) were already at home.
Using a freshly brought butcher's knife, Vinod first stabbed his wife to death. Then he attacked Rohit in his neck with the knife. He also succumbed to his injuries.
