Manimajra resident booked for alleged rape

Following directions from a local court, the police on Sunday registered a case against a Manimajra resident for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage.

Following directions from a local court, the police on Sunday registered a case against a Manimajra resident for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage.

The accused, who is yet to be arrested, has been identified as Jai Parkash (32).

According to the police, the accused was in a physical relationship with the woman and promised to marry her.

He was already married.

After the woman came to know the truth about his marital status, she approached the accused, who had allegedly threatened her.

The woman later lodged a complaint with the Police Complaint Authority.

A case under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Manimajra police station.
