Vigilance nabs two for taking Rs 25,000 bribe
The Haryana vigilance bureau on Monday caught two persons from the sub-tehsil office in Barwala, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.

The complainant, Vimal, a resident of Mubarikpur village, had told the vigilance officials that as he wanted to sell his ancestral land, he went to the sub-tehsil office to get the land registered in his name.
For the registry, he met revenue clerk Jaiveer, who asked him to meet Rajeev Bajaj, who claimed to be a stamp vendor.
Vimal alleged that demanding Rs 25,000 for the job, Bajaj told him that he would make a rough affidavit and after showing the land to the buyer, would complete the job formally.
Following Vimal’s complaint, a team under inspector Raj Pal was formed.
According to Pal, Bajaj used to sign the stamp paper pretending that he was a lawyer, whereas he was working on someone else’s licence.
On Monday, when Vimal gave Rs 25,000 to Bajaj, a vigilance team in presence of independent witnesses arrested both Bajaj and Jaiveer.
“The duo will be produced before the court on Tuesday,” Pal said.
