Celebratory marriage firing: SAD leader’s son booked for killing orchestra artist in Bathinda

An orchestra artist was killed in a firing at a marriage function in Maur near here on Saturday night, allegedly by son of a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader who is on the run.

The deceased has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur, 25, a resident of Bathinda and was employed with an orchestra group from Sardulgarh, in Mansa district .

The Maur police have registered case under section 302 (murder) and section 25 (firing of guns in contravention of law) 27 ((punishment for using arms) 54 (amendments relating to arms and ammunition) and 59 (fee payable on petition for appeal)of Arms Act against SAD leader’s son and two unidentified persons .

All three accused are absconding.
