Chandigarh: 2 proclaimed offenders in vehicle lifting cases nabbed

Chandigarh Police have arrested two proclaimed offenders in separate vehicle lifting cases.

The proclaimed offender (PO) and summon staff of Chandigarh Police arrested one Shankar Thapa of Balongi in connection to a case lodged on July 12, 2016.

One Sandeep Singh of Sector 56, Chandigarh, had told police that his motorcycle had been stolen from outside his house on the intervening night of July 6 and July 7, 2016. Police had arrested the accused and recovered the stolen vehicle from him. He later jumped bail and was declared PO on June 9, 2022.

Police also arrested one Pushpinder Singh of Jandiala Guru, Amritsar, in connection to a case lodged on April 11, 2008. The complainant, Arun Verma of Sector 43, Chandigarh, told police that his car had been stolen from in front of his house. Police then arrested the accused and recovered the stolen vehicle.

Pushpinder was declared PO on June 4, 2014, after he stopped appearing before court after availing bail.
