“The way the government is suppressing the rights of the people, it is like imposing an undeclared emergency in Punjab, where first the freedom of the press was snatched, and now the freedom of the opposition and the common man are also being put at stake,” he said.

“If Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia is the accused, then action should be taken against him. Neither should Majithia be taken here and there in hiding nor kept away from his family members, nor should he be prevented from meeting them,” he said.
