HC to pronounce judgment on Majithia’s bail plea on Aug 10
Majithia in his plea claimed the FIR a “blatant case of political in nature” and on the other hand, the Punjab Police had opposed the bail plea arguing that witnesses examined have expressed concern about their security if he is released on bail
CHANDIGARH: A Punjab and Haryana high court bench on Wednesday would pronounce its judgment on the bail plea of Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia. The matter was reserved for final order by the bench of justice MS Ramachandra Rao and justice Sureshwar Thakur on July 29. Majithia had approached high court seeking bail on May 23 in a case registered under various sections of NDPS Act in December 2021 by the Punjab Police. He surrendered after the February 20 assembly polls and is currently lodged in the Patiala jail.
