The duo were arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by the victim’s mother, police said.

The complainant told police that her daughter had left the house to deposit her school re-examination fee but failed to return home. During a search, the mother traced the girl to the house of the accused.

The victim later revealed that when she reached the Chander Nagar bridge near Buddha Nullah, the accused’s brother, aged 21, forcefully picked her up on his motorcycle.

He allegedly took her to a hotel room where the key accused was waiting. The main accused then threatened and raped her, before moving her to his house.

Inspector Kulwant Kaur stated that a case has been registered against the accused and his brother under Sections 64(1) (rape) and 3(5) (joint liability) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

“A hunt is underway to arrest both the accused,” said a police officer.
