Over 1 lakh voters mapped during special camps in Punjab

Working towards smooth and transparent Special Intensive Revision (SIR) across Punjab, special camps were organised on Sunday at all 24,453 polling booths across 117 assembly constituencies of the state. 1,10,193 voters were mapped in one day.

This was stated by the chief electoral officer, Punjab, Anindita Mitra. She said with this, mapping across the state has crossed 85%.

During this mapping, the SIR conducted in Punjab in 2003 is being used as a basis for matching with the current voter lists.

The booth level officers will undertake door-to-door visits across the state from June 25 to July 24 for filling voter verification forms.
