Shahabad Assembly constituency of Kurukshetra district has become the first in Haryana to complete the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, claims Kurukshetra deputy commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena.

The DC said the SIR exercise began across the state on June 15, and Shahabad completed the work two days ahead of schedule, becoming the first Assembly constituency in Haryana to do so. (HT File)

Congratulating the Shahbad SDM, election officials, booth level officers (BLOs), booth level agents (BLAs) and others associated with the exercise, Meena said the achievement was a matter of pride for both Shahabad and Kurukshetra district.

According to the details the exercise was carried out by 185 BLOs across 185 polling booths covering 1,72,945 voters. Of these, 1,53,852 voters (88.96%) have been digitised, while 19,033 electors (11.04%) were identified under the ASDD category (absent, shifted, dead and duplicate).

Across Kurukshetra district, the revision is being conducted at 810 polling booths covering 783831 voters. So far, 781,375 enumeration forms (99.69%) have been distributed, while the data of 653872 voters (83.42%) has been digitised. Among the four Assembly segments, Ladwa has achieved 89.19% digitisation, Shahabad 88.96%, Pehowa 85.32%, and Thanesar 72.44%, he added.
