Student groups clash outside Rohtak college

Two groups of students clashed with sticks, rods and stones in broad daylight outside the gate of Pandit Nekiram Sharma Government College in Model Town on Thursday, police said.

According to information, a purported video of the incident was circulating on social media showing the groups trading blows and pelting stones at each other near the shops outside the college.

Civil Lines police said they had received information about the clash and were examining the video to identify the persons involved. No formal complaint had been lodged by either side so far, police said, adding that efforts were underway to trace the students seen in the video.

They said further action would be taken after the persons involved in the clash are identified and the circumstances leading to the incident are established.
