Lucknow Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday the forest department should put forward integrated efforts and connect people with nature and develop self-sustainable tourist spots in the state.

“People won’t recognize it to be a picture of Goddess Durga unless she rides a lion and that of Shiv if it is not with Nandi, and of Krishna if without peacock or a cow,” he said while stressing that Indian tradition and culture had since ages honoured bio-diversity.

Adityanath said the ancient Indian tradition had always valued biodiversity and also stressed on its conservation. “We can protect the world only by protecting the organisms. If we observe the tradition of 9 incarnations in Sanatan Dharma, the first one is Matsya, second is Kurma, third is Varah and fourth is Narsingh which are categories of gradual development “ he said while addressing a Wildlife Week event.

“If the communication between man and nature gets rebirth it will be good for nature and man too. Forest department along with culture and tourism and other related departments can come together in a professional manner to make sure people get connected with such places,” he said.

He said that if the principle of co-existence was disturbed, it resulted in to problems and the world today was struggling hard with global warming. “The life cycle is such that all animals are dependent on each other but the most dangerous creature is human that harms everyone,” he said.

The chief minister said there was enough land to develop bio-diversity in the state but the question was how to connect people in a professional manner.

The CM flagged off rapid response vans that will be deployed at Dudhwa Tiger Rreserve, launched a mobile app on forest and wildlife awareness, and also gave away prizes to students who won different contests organised during the Wildlife Week.
