A 13-year-old boy and a 50-year-old man suffered injuries on Tuesday after a traffic light pole fell on an auto rickshaw and a two-wheeler in Connaught Place, police said.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 9.30pm near the Connaught Place outer circle and passersby took the injured to the hospital. Local police officials said the pole had collapsed due to rust.
“The minor was inside the auto rickshaw while the 50-year-old was on a scooter. Both were injured while others around them escaped unhurt. They are undergoing treatment. We are probing the reason behind the fall. It looks like an old traffic pole,” said a senior police officer.
Police said a case will be lodged once the injured are fit to record a statement.
