36-year-old killed in hit and run, driver arrested
Police used the number plate details to trace the 21-year-old financier who allegedly drove the vehicle.
A 36-year-old man was killed and his friend injured after an allegedly speeding car hit them near the Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital in east Delhi on Saturday.

While the driver escaped without stopping, police said they later traced and arrested a 21-year-old man, a financier in east Delhi, who was allegedly driving the vehicle.
Police officers aware of the matter said the two men -- Rahul Chand (36) and Rahul Shankar (37) -- were walking outside gate number 2 of the LBS hospital when the car allegedly hit them around 3pm.
Deputy commissioner of police (east) Priyanka Kashyap said the two men were admitted to the LBS hospital where Chand was declared brought dead while Shankar is still undergoing treatment.
“During investigation, we traced the registration number plate of the vehicle and learnt that it is of a BMW car in the name of Ashwani Lal (21). Lal was arrested. He lives with his brother in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad,” said the DCP.
