Caught on camera: Brave Delhi police constable nabs wanted chain-snatcher

In another such incident of excelling at duty and display of selfless character, Delhi police head-constable Sandeep Shahi last month doused a fire on a car near India Gate with the help of fire extinguishers from DTC buses and helped avoid a major accident.

A Delhi police constable single-handedly nabbed a wanted chain-snatcher who has 11 cases against him. Sharing the video of the incident on Thursday, the Delhi police lauded constable Satyendra's bravery and agility.

The 19-second video shows the constable riding his bike and slowing down as soon as he identifies the criminal coming from the opposite side. The history sheeter can be seen alerted after spotting the police personnel and tries to evade the scene swiftly. Constable Satyendra grabs the chain snatcher at the exact moment he passes by him as the criminal tries hard to escape the policeman's grip.

Appreciating Satyendra's act of courage, the police department wrote in Hindi, “Without caring about his life, constable Satyendra of Shahbad Dairy police station arrested a snatcher. With the arrest of this snatcher, 11 cases were solved. Legal proceedings are on. #HeroesOfDelhiPolice”.
