Delhi: Auto, taxi fares hiked
The meter-down fare of an auto will now be ₹30 per kilometre from ₹25 earlier, whereas the meter-down fare of a taxi will now be ₹40 from ₹25 earlier
Delhi government hiked the fare of autos and taxis (kali-pilli taxies) by ₹5 and ₹15 per kilometre respectively, which will be effective from Wednesday, according to a notification issued by the Delhi Transport Department.

The hike does not include cab aggregators like Ola and Uber as these private aggregators are not regulated by the Delhi government.

The meter-down fare of an auto will now be ₹30 per kilometre from ₹25 earlier, whereas the meter-down fare of a taxi will now be ₹40 from ₹25 earlier.
The per kilometre fare (apart from the meter down charges) for autos is now ₹11 from ₹9.5 earlier, and ₹17 for taxis from ₹14 earlier. For AC taxis, the fare is now ₹20 per km from ₹16 earlier.
Delhi has around 95,000 autos and 10,000 taxis (kali-pili), according to different auto and taxi unions.
The fare revision is based on the recommendation of the auto fare revision committee set up by the Delhi government and approved by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet.
