Hawker killed in hit-and-run at Munirka; BMW seized, 3 held
The owner of the car, his son, and their driver were detained, as they were present in the car when the accident took place, a senior officer said.
A 58-year-old street hawker was killed after an allegedly speeding BMW car hit him and his push cart in Munirka area in south Delhi late Sunday night, police said. The driver fled the spot, leaving the injured vendor, the police added.

On Monday evening, the police traced the car and found it parked outside a house in Rajokari near Mahipalpur. The owner of the car, his son, and their driver were detained, as they were present in the car when the accident took place, a senior officer said. “We are questioning them to ascertain who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident,” the officer said.
According to the officer, the accident took place around 11.30pm in Munirka. A street vendor, named Vashudeo,58, was pushing his cart towards his home when allegedly speeding BMW car hit him. Vashudeo suffered serious injuries in the accident, the officer added.
“The occupants of the BMW fled the spot. The broken registration plate of the car was found at the accident spot. It helped us trace the vehicle and apprehend the occupants,” the officer said.
