Chalk out action plan for PM SVANidhi scheme: Uttar Pradesh chief secretary to DMs
Uttar Pradesh chief secretary DS Mishra holds video conference with district magistrates, also asks them to launch month-long drive on March 24 for adoption of TB patients
Chief secretary DS Mishra on Saturday directed district magistrates (DMs) to chalk out a 45-day action plan to achieve cent per cent targets under the PM Street Vendors’ AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme.
Launched by the Centre on June 1, 2020, the scheme seeks to provide affordable working capital loan to street vendors to resume their livelihood that was adversely affected due the Covid-19 lockdown.
The Uttar Pradesh chief secretary also asked the DMs to focus on sanitation in cities in view of the ongoing annual cleanliness survey. Besides, he directed them to make preparations for the launch of a one-month campaign on the occasion of World TB Day on March 24 to adopt TB patients in the state with a view to freeing the state from tuberculosis.
Mishra was holding a video conference with DMs here a day after the model code of conduct ended in the state on Friday.
The Uttar Pradesh chief secretary said various social organisations, education institutions and individuals had adopted around 38000 TB patients in the state to help them fight the disease.
The Lucknow DM’s initiative of identifying different organisations and persuading them to adopt TB patients by classifying them into different age groups was laudable, he said.
“The government has decided to launch a one-month drive from March 24 to adopt more TB patients,” the chief secretary said.
As for PM SVANidhi, Mishra asked the DMs to organise mega camps on March 24 and 25.
He said 9,21,833 applications against the target of 8,30,000 were received under the scheme till March 31,2021. He said loan had been provided to 92.61% of the applicants so far.
Mishra further said that the field assessment work for the Cleanliness Survey-2022 had begun. Cleanliness must be done twice a day in public and commercial areas, he said.
